Trek Overview

Chakrata is a charming hill town located near Dehradun, just 87 km from the capital city of Uttarakhand. Perched at an elevation of 6,948 feet (2,118 meters), it offers stunning natural beauty and serene surroundings. This trek includes exploring the picturesque Moila Top, an enchanting meadow home to an ancient temple and the mystical Budher Cave. You'll also witness the mesmerizing horizon at Chilmiri Top, the highest point in Chakrata. Surrounded by dense Deodar trees, Chilmiri Top provides breathtaking views of Himalayan peaks. Finally, the journey concludes with the captivating experience of Tiger Falls, where the cascading waters create a truly joyful and rejuvenating atmosphere.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 0: Overnight Ride to Dehradun

Assemble in Delhi and begin the overnight journey to Dehradun.
Enjoy a comfortable drive with a scenic route.
Halt at a midway stop for refreshments.
Overnight travel.

Day 1: Moila Top Trek & Chilmiri Sunset

Arrival in Dehradun early morning.
Drive towards the resort near Lokhandi / Chakrata.
Freshen up and have breakfast.
Start the trek to Moila Top, a beautiful alpine meadow.
Experience 360° panoramic views of the Himalayas and dense deodar forests.
Continue hiking towards Chilmiri Top, the highest point in Chakrata.
Witness a breathtaking sunset over Himalayan peaks.
Return to the resort by evening.
Dinner, bonfire, and music.
Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 2: Tiger Falls & Return Journey

Wake up to a peaceful Himalayan morning view.
Morning tea followed by breakfast.
Visit Tiger Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in India, located around 20 km from Chakrata.
Spend time enjoying the cascading waters and natural surroundings.
Begin return journey to Dehradun by evening.
Depart for Delhi around 10:00 PM.
Reach Delhi early morning (around 4:00 AM) with unforgettable memories and new friendships.

Inclusions:

Transportation: Includes pickup and drop from Dehradun to Dehradun with Non AC Tempo Traveller
Accommodation: Hotel stay at Joshimath Twin/Triple sharing- Tent stay on twin sharing basis
Food: All meals provided breakfast, packed lunch, day pack, tea/coffee, snacks, soup, and dinner.
Permits & Fees: Covers forest permit and entrance fees for the entire trek.
Camping Equipment: Includes dome tents, sleeping bags, mattress, liner, pillow, toilet tents, dining tent, table, and stools.
Kitchen & Staff: A dedicated kitchen team handles all cooking and food preparation.
Trekking Staff & Support: Experienced local guides and porters accompany and support you throughout.
Communication & Safety: Equipped with radio walkie-talkies, medical kit, oximeter and oxygen cylinders.
Technical & Safety Gear: Includes crampons, gaiters, ice axe, carabiners, sit harness, and other essential safety gear.

Exclusions:

Personal Insurance, toiletries, and personal medical kit are not included. Please bring your own.
Meals not included: Day 1 – breakfast & lunch, Last day – lunch & dinner.
Porters costs will be extra per bag per day Rs. 400.00 pay Directly our base Slope manager.
Foreign nationals must pay an extra ₹1600 for a permit – passport and visa are required.
Trek permit: Aadhar card and Medical Certificate are necessary for Indian people.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Change/Cancellation of Booking by the Participant

Process

The cancellation process is completely automated. Please log in to your Mountain Hike account and follow the instructions on your dashboard. You can choose between Instant Refund or Cash Refund as per the policy below.

Replacement of Participants

Participants can be replaced through the India Treks dashboard if the booking status is “Paid” and at least 5 days remain before departure. If you face issues, email info@indiatreks.co.in with a screenshot of the error. The new participant must submit a signed undertaking form.

Note: Any Volvo/Train transport booked for the original participant will be automatically canceled and is non-transferable.

Cash Refund Policy

Cash refunds apply only for bookings made without promotional codes or vouchers. Refund amounts will be deducted as follows:

30+ days before departure: 5% deduction
15-30 days before departure: 50% deduction
Less than 15 days before departure: No Refund

Refunds will be processed to the original payment method and are based on the Base Price of the trek, excluding transport, insurance, and portage fees.

Voucher Refund Policy

Voucher refunds are available for all types of bookings, including promotional offers. Refund amounts will be:

5+ days before departure: No deduction
Less than 5 days: No Refund

Vouchers are valid for 10 months from the date of issue. The refunded voucher amount does not include service tax paid during the original booking.

Cancellation or Change Initiated by India Treks

We reserve the right to modify or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, natural disasters, low participation, or any force majeure events. If this occurs, you will be given the choice of:

A replacement event of equivalent value
A full refund (processed as a voucher valid for 6 months)

If cancellation is due to low participation, participants can choose between a cash refund or a voucher.

Changes/Cancellation After Departure

Due to Force Majeure

No refund will be provided for cancellations due to force majeure after departure.

Other Reasons

If cancellations occur for reasons other than force majeure, we will attempt to arrange alternative services or provide a refund in the form of a 6-month voucher (or cash, if preferred).

Participant Dropout During the Event

No refund will be provided if a participant voluntarily drops out of the trek. Any additional costs incurred for return arrangements will be borne by the participant.

Early Return from an Event

If a participant returns early due to force majeure or an event ending sooner than planned, additional expenses (extra nights, transport) must be covered by the participant.

Emergency Evacuation

In case of a medical emergency, we will arrange evacuation to the nearest hospital. Any costs for porters, vehicles, ambulance services, or hospitalization must be covered by the participant.
